Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performance of project-based work
  • Design and support appropriate solutions based on existing environment, create detailed design documents, evaluate and test new and evolving technologies and performance
  • Collaborate with Project Managers throughout the implementation process
  • Creation and maintenance of project and technical documentation and customer deliverables
  • Deployment, Integration & Testing of UC&C infrastructure within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Microsoft, Polycom, etc)
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders including vendors on products and implementations as needed
  • Participate in key projects of client to provide recommendations and guidance for system migrations
  • Provide basic project coordination for in-house projects to ensure they adhere to company policy, are completed on time and within budget, meet the deliverables of the project while following change control procedures
  • Development & Documentation of Customer Network Connectivity Design
  • Development & Documentation of Services Deployment Model (Hosted/Managed)
  • Consulting
  • Coordination of project tasks, and changes
  • Ability to research and plan an optimal upgrade or change strategies
  • Ability to research and answer product specific technical questions within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Microsoft, Polycom, etc)
  • Other duties
  • Assist helpdesk with configuration changes and troubleshooting as necessary
  • Develop internal training materials on system delivery and other basic tasks
  • Work with Sales Engineers to ensure proper solutions are deployed based on corporate standards
  • Personal and professional growth
  • Gain/maintain technical knowledge within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Microsoft, Polycom, etc)
  • Gain/Maintain Strong Managed Services Product Knowledge
  • Gain/Maintain Strong internal business process knowledge of end-to-end customer life cycle support for Managed Services Solutions
  • Build and maintain relationships with global partners, virtual teams and third parties on deployment or support issues

  • Ability to use Microsoft Office software to produce documents and perform analysis work

Education and/or Experience

Required

  • 2+ years of experience deploying or installing UCC infrastructure products within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Microsoft, Polycom, etc)
  • Junior level certifications within the candidate’s career discipline (Cisco, Microsoft, Polycom, etc). Examples include:
  • Cisco CCNA
  • Microsoft MCSA
  • Polycom PCVE
  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
  • General IT knowledge such as basic networking, operating system knowledge

Desirable

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with or certifications in virtualization technologies
  • Networking certifications (CCNA Router & Switch, Network+)
