Your Role:
The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for developing our business through client outreach, local events, tradeshows, and lead qualification. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager – Eastern Canada, you will develop your outreach plan and be an integral part of the success of AVI-SPL Canada.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify potential clients in the targeted market and complete appropriate research on prospected client’s business and needs.
- Attend local shows and events pertaining to the industry
- Contact potential clients to establish rapport and present the AVI-SPL Value Proposition
- Partner with management to identify appropriate markets and potential clients to pursue.
- Collaborate with management, account managers, product management, manufacturing partners and others to understand products and services to introduce to prospects.
- Identify if lead meets BANT (Budget, Authority, Need and Timing) criteria and is ready for sales engagement
- Use of a CRM
- Conduct scheduled business reviews with Management and Upper Management to discuss the status of leads
- Achieve and exceed targets
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- To be successful in this position you should have a proven track record of achievements in business development or sales (B2B - 2 to 3 years).
- Understand the working of the modern workplace and customers’ issues as it relates to our business.
- Understand and be comfortable with audio visual, information technology and unified communications solutions.
- Make a high volume of telephone calls, work with social media and attend events sometimes scheduled outside of normal business hours.
- Professional, bilingual, with excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Deliver an online AVI-SPL Profile and Value Proposition Power Point presentation over a unified communications platform such as Microsoft Teams or face to face meeting
- Balance multiple tasks with changing priorities.
- Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion
- Excellent attention to details and organizational skills
- Excellent time and priority management.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and ability to work within a CRM
- Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues and the ability to work effectively, interact and reach out to people in various levels of an organization
- Must be bilingual in English and French, written and spoken
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or in similar or related field
- Minimum 2 years prior sales or telemarketing experience preferred; experience in the Audio Visual or Technology field desirable
